REMINDERS


Palm Cross Productions

Each year at the cathedral we set to and make 2000 Palm Crosses to be sent to our link diocese of Exeter in England. A party from the Canterbury Group join us for a mornings enjoyable palm cross making. This year the day set aside is Thursday 18th January. We commence at 10.00 a.m. and go for lunch (optional) at a local hostelry when we have finished our task. If you have a crop of good quality palm leaves in your garden or compound then please bring them with you. We need quality palms for quality crosses! Everyone is very welcome.

Lent 2007

Despite the fact that Christmas 2006 has not yet happened we are already looking forward to Lent and Easter. Lent begins on Ash Wednesday 21st February. So put that date in your diary as a day of obligation for all Christian people to gather and begin their preparation for the celebration of Easter.

Confirmation 2007

While Bishop Clive is in Bahrain for his farewell visit we shall be holding a confirmation service on Sunday 25th March at 6. 00 p.m. We already have a small group of candidates so if you are over the age of 10 and have been considering being confirmed now is the time to make up your mind and make yourself known. After the service there will also probably be our chaplaincy farewell to Bishop Clive and Jane.
So if you are at all interested in confirmation, youngsters or adults please contact the dean or cathedral office.

Synod Locum

While the Dean and Fr Victor are away in Cyprus for the Synod at the beginning of February, the Rev’d Canon Dennis Gurney and his wife Naomi will be in residence in the bishop’s flat and taking our services. Dennis was the chaplain in Dubai some years ago and his daughter Alison and family are here with us in Bahrain. Please welcome Dennis and Naomi as they come among us.
