Ash Wednesday and Lent

The Christian Holy season of Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, 21st February. Two special services will take place that day :-

- 12.noon in the Cathedral. A special service of reflection and the burning of palm crosses for the making of the ashes. This will NOT be a Holy Communion but it WILL be followed by a light lunch.
- 6.30 p.m. Holy Communion and the imposition of ashes (for those who wish).

A simple programme of Lenten exercises will be produced for those requiring some guidance as to how to keep this season holy and draw closer to God. Books for Lent reading are also available. Don’t forget the library of spiritual books always available in the Coffee Room. If anyone has spare books they have read and found helpful and can lend to other people during Lent please make them available at the end of services before and during Lent.
