The Nativity Play

The star who couldn't TWINKLE
by Vicki Howie

This year's Nativity play, entitled "The star who couldn't TWINKLE" was performed by the children of the St. Christopher's Sunday Club.  The story is about a little star who cannot sparkle or shine because he is too shy to look up at God's beaming smile.  He asks the other stars and glowing angel for help, but no one can stop his light fading - until Jesus is born, wearing God's saving smile on his face!  The play introduces us to the idea that Jesus was born to bring us close to God.

After just three weeks of rehearsals the big night finally arrived.  Everyone was nervous but also very excited to bring the story to the congregation.  Noel the narrator, told the story with great passion and the children acted brilliantly whilse looking wonderful in their costumes.

A special word of thanks to Noel and all the Mums for making the costumes, their assistance in getting the children ready for the play and for the food they brought for the children and the congregation.

From the St. Christopher's Sunday Club we wish you all a very bright and shiny 2005.
