Fr. Victor's 10th Anniversary

On Sunday July 5th Fr. Victor will celebrated the 10th anniversary of his ordination as a priest.

He was called and prepared here in Bahrain when he offered himself to a selection conference which gave the advice to the Bishop of that time, that Victor Salve was a fitting person to be called and trained as a priest in the Anglican Church. After a recommended period of study and appropriate examination, both of his academic and spiritual soundness, the Bishop finally came to Bahrain and laid hands on Victor – the outward visible sign of the sacrament of ordination. All clergy in the Anglican Church anywhere in the world are under the authority and discipline of their bishop and answerable to him in all things.

Since that day Fr. Victor has faithfully served God and the church here in Bahrain principally as the Bahrain International Seafarers Chaplain at Mina Salman, but also as assistant priest at St Christopher’s Cathedral. Before moving to the seafarers chaplaincy he served for a time as cathedral administrator.

Fr Victor’s priesthood is not always clearly visible as he spends much of his time at the dockside fulfilling his duties there, but he is also very active behind the scene and in a supporting role at St. Christopher’s. There are many people who are indebted to him for his wise and caring ministry to them and their families over the years.

Our prayers and good wishes are with Victor and Ruby as they look to the future.
