The Cathedral Office

As reported in the last issue, Elizabeth George resigned her position as Cathedral Administrator with effect from 31st May. We wish Elizabeth well in her new appointment.

For some time there has been much discussion within the Church Council regarding the requirements for the administration of not only the Cathedral office, but also the Cathedral compound as a whole.

Fortuitously, although Elizabeth’s leaving caused much concern, our prayers were answered when the name of Alison Seward was proposed to fill a short-term gap. Ali (as she prefers to be known) has much experience of office administration and expressed willingness to act as ‘Dean’s PA’, ‘Secretary’ and as it were ‘General Factotum’ for a period of six months whilst a long-term solution is evaluated and decided upon.

Ali took up the appointment with effect from 1st June and we welcome her to the office. It is requested that all assist in making known their views on aspects of the administration that they suggest should be changed or enhanced.
