Rev. Anwar and Mrs. Usha Khan
Farewell

It is with sadness that we have to say 'Good Bye" to the Rev. Anwar and Mrs. Usha Khan.  For more than twenty-four years Anwar has been Pastor of the Urdu congregation at the NEC, contributing in a very important way to the overall witness of that church.  They have also been regular members of the Sunday morning congregation at St. Christopher's Cathedral with Anwar, regularly partaking in the giving of the sacrament.

They have both been very involved in the Ecumenical Conference of Charity (ECC) assisting with spiritual guidance and moral support to migrant workers and Usha has been involved in the prison ministry.

They have also been a great asset to the Pakistan Embassy in assisting to the needs of the Pakistani population.  Their important role to the people of Bahrain will be sorely missed and we wish them God speed.

The Shalom Christian Centre in Pakistan

Edwin, the son of Rev. Anwar and Usha, recently visited us in Bahrain and gave a talk to the congregations about his 'Shalom' ministry in Pakistan, an outreach programme to disadvantaged children.  Edwin, supported by his wife, has set up an orphan centre giving assistance to 40 children.  They also provide extra educational coaching for underprivileged children.  Edwin feels that this is a good start for building these children's future lives.

We wish them God's Blessings on this ministry.
