On
Easter Sunday, Father Alan led a service for the combined
congregations of the Awali St. Christopher’s Church, and the Awali
Interdenominational Church in celebrating Christ’s resurrection.
Pastor Graham led the time of prayer.
Alan spoke of our lives, and how we come from many parts of the
world, along with all our unique attributes as inherited from our
parents, and likened it to a maze whereby we may enter at many
ports. Just as we are different on entering, so too we may find God
in many different ways.
As always, at Easter time, we have the opportunity to reflect on the
miracle of our salvation, and revel in praising His name. This we
did, but none so much as the children who, as is their custom,
filled the first pew, and as a self-appointed choir, belted out the
hymns of praise to lift the hearts of all the adults present. Most
of the songs were new to the children, and so they sang, not always
in tune, not always in time, but in a way that reminded us that
Christ called us to come to Him like children.
With joy in our hearts, and a cross in the hand, we left there
reminded of His love.
