The Rev’d Peter and Nancy Crooks

The Gulf clergy and wives will be meeting together in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday 4th June for a quiet time together with an opportunity to catch up on news and views and some mutual support.

The Rev. Peter and Nancy Crooks from Aden will be travelling back to Bahrain with us on Thursday June 5th and will be here until mid day on Sunday 8th so that Peter can be present at our services on Friday, Saturday and Sunday morning to tell us a bit more about the work he is doing in Aden and to update us on the ‘workshop project’ which we are supporting from Bahrain.

Prayers are the stairs we must climb everyday,
If we would reach God there is no other way,
For we learn to know God when we meet him in prayer
And ask him to lighten our burden of care.
So start in the morning and, though the way's steep,
Climb ever upward till your eyes close in sleep.
For prayers are the stairs that lead to the Lord.
And to meet him in prayer is the climber's reward.

If we would reach God there is no other way,
For we learn to know God when we meet him in prayer
And ask him to lighten our burden of care.
So start in the morning and, though the way's steep,
Climb ever upward till your eyes close in sleep.

And to meet him in prayer is the climber's reward.

Please remember to pray for persecuted Christians - so many Christians do not have the freedom
to worship as we do here in Bahrain.

The Barnabas Fund based in Pewsey, UK, works to support Christian communities in
those parts of the world where they are facing poverty and  persecution.
