Six lucky children from the Belize orphanage had a weekend away from the City thanks to supporters and helpers who have donated and raised funds for this trip.

In the Belize Orphanage (Dorothy Menzies Home) the children are mainly abandoned or street children, having had every kind of abuse and they never get the chance of an outing.  In the north of Belize, Sarteneja, Wildtracks farm and a registered charity, have built a retreat on the lagoon, with domestic animals for the children to plan with and feed.  There is also a jungle gym and lots of opportunity to play in the shallow lagoon - a wonderful place for a weekend retreat.  A young English couple, Kate and Adam Lloyd have volunteered to drive the ten-hour round trip to be responsible for collecting and returning the children, and we hope to be able to do this again soon.

All this depends on funding so thank you everyone who has helped to make this possible.  The appeal is on going so it is hoped that a further six children will have the opportunity to escape for a weekend break.
