OBITUARY

On Thursday, 26th November 2009 we learned with great sadness that Michael Grieve had passed away peacefully early that morning at the age of 63.  Soon after retiring in March 2008 to England, Michael began his battle with cancer.  Unfortunately a short remission earlier this year did not last.

The funeral took place on 1st December in St. John the Baptish Church, Lowick, Northumberland, England.

Michael leaves a widow Cheryl whom he married in Awali Church in 2000, and his daughter Lucy.  Her mother Susanna, Michael's first wife, died fourteen years ago when Lucy was just seven years old.

Cheryl, Michael & Lucy

Michael had many interests, including walking, Scottish country dancing and photography.  Cheryl and Lucy were active members of St. Christopher's Cathedral's Anglican congregation and the church council.  Latterly, Michael had been People's Warden for one year.

A memorial service will take place in St. Christopher's Cathedral, Bahrain on Saturday, 9th January 2010 at 3.30 pm

Rather than flowers, anyone who may wish to do so is invited to make a donation to a cancer Society or a church of their choice.  Meanwhile our thoughts and prayers remain with Cheryl and Lucy as they come to terms with their loss.
