Change of Weekend and our church programme

On September 1st the Kingdom of Bahrain changed its weekend from Thursday/Friday to Friday/Saturday to bring it more in line with much of the rest of the world thus enhancing its banking and economic capabilities. This had implications for everyone else on the island. Some agencies have retained their old working arrangement while others, including schools, have come into line.

For us it provided the opportunity to look afresh at church service timings.

The Awali Anglican service has now moved from 5.30 p.m. to 10.00 a.m. on Saturdays, a move which has already proved popular. The service continues as a biblically based all age family service with Holy Communion in a very relaxed style which everyone seems to appreciate.

With the extended use of CDs to provide the musical accompaniment for our singing we are able to enjoy a much wider variety of Christian music, competently performed, and the use of a PowerPoint projector provides the finishing touches.
For the complete list of services at St Christopher’s Cathedral and Awali Anglican church please see the back cover.

Anyone and everyone is very welcome to join in any of our services.
