Preparation for Worship

At a recent meeting of the Bahrain Anglican Church Council a request was made that we try and start our services at the time scheduled. Because of the traffic situation this is not always possible but since the beginning of September we have made every effort to comply. It is quite understandable that some will find themselves unavoidably delayed for whatever reason, but do not worry. Just gather your required books from the foyer when you arrive and quietly join the rest of the congregation.

Also we are trying to maintain a period of quiet in church in preparation for each service. The clergy will usually be in their places 5 minutes before a service is due to begin. The start of the pre-service music is the sign that our worship has begun and prayerful quiet is observed both inside the cathedral and in the foyer. Please respect other people’s time of quiet prayer and preparation for worship.
In our worship we come first and foremost to meet with God. Our fellowship with each other follows after the service when we have the opportunity to meet each other over refreshments in the Coffee Room.

Would the regular members of the congregation please make it their business to attend to the needs of visitors and newcomers as they try to find their way around service books and sheets. It helps a lot when we can sensitively and gently act as guides to those who come afresh into our midst for worship. Help them to feel at home. Thank you!
