Six lucky children from the Belize Orphanage had a weekend away from the City thanks to supporters and helpers who have donated and raised funds for the trip.

In the Belize Orphange (Dorothy Menzies Home) the children, mainly abandoned or street children having had every kind of abuse, never get the chance of an outing. In the north of Belize, Sarteneja, Wildtracks farm and a registered charity, have built a retreat on the lagoon, with domestic animals for the children to play with and feed. There is also a jungle gym and lots of opportunity to play in the shallow lagoon - a wonderful place for a weekend retreat.

A young English couple, Kate and Adam Lloyd, have volunteered to drive the ten-hour round trip and be responsible for collecting and returning the children, and we hope to be able to do this again soon. All this depends on funding so thank you everyone who have helped to make this possible. The appeal is ongoing so it is hoped that a further six children will have the opportunity for a weekend break.
