We have a unique opportunity to visit and encourage Christian
prisoners, and we need your help to do it!
For 20 years Christians in Bahrain prayed that the authorities
would allow them to visit Christian prisoners. Praise God,
there are now Christians meeting in the Ladies’ Prison every
Thursday morning and in the Men's Prison on the last Monday of
the month.
At the Ladies’ prison a team of 4 volunteer ladies from
different churches visit each Thursday from 9.30 – 11am. We meet
with 8 – 30 prisoners from a variety of countries; some are
committed Christians, others are just beginning to explore their
faith. We are never concerned with what brought the ladies to
prison, for were we not also once in chains?
‘It is for
freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm then and do not
let yourselves be burdened by a yoke of slavery.’
Galatians 5:1
Most ladies are migrant workers struggling with many difficult
issues: for example loss of income so vital to their families
back home. In these desperate times, the power of God's love and
hope in the Bible is all the more relevant, and what a privilege
to share it with them!
Each week one visitor leads the group through a prepared study,
followed by an informal time of chatting and prayer. This
informal time is where we can share God's love with them
individually.
This invaluable ministry is carried out by volunteers from
churches across Bahrain and we always need more help, especially
over the summer. Ladies, if you have the time on a Thursday
morning to please prayerfully consider being part of this
amazing work. Call Emily on 39801765 for more details or a chat!
We are particularly interested in people who speak more than one
language.
We would also appreciate your prayers. Please pray for….

The authorities, that they would continue to
allow us to visit, and that they too might come to see
Gods’ love for them through our visits. |
 |
The prisoners, that they would be encouraged in
their faith and for those that don’t know Jesus to come
to faith. |
 |
The volunteers, that they be given strength and
wisdom as they seek to do Gods’ work through this
ministry. |
