has suggested that we might start a ‘Share a Prayer’ section
and has started with his following composition. Further
contributions will be very welcome. (Ed)
Father, help
us to turn our difficulties into your opportunities.
For it is only in the face of turmoil that we can
demonstrate true peace,
Only in the face of hatred that we can demonstrate true
love,
Only in the face of hurt that we can demonstrate true
forgiveness,
Only in the face of frustration that we can demonstrate true
patience,
Only in the face of uncertainty that we can demonstrate true
faith,
And only in the face of despair that we can demonstrate true
hope.
Through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen
Nigel
Your glory
shines within his eyes where mercy is to be found
I saw a child at play one day and God was playing too.
Within his being and body too God was in there too.
No bars or chains hold this lad and age was in his hand.
Free in this land of ancient man he held God’s love for you.
I looked around and God was found in the eyes of those who
knew.
This child of ten without a den could it be for me or you?
I looked around once more, again, and saw true love there
too.
The God of might, where all things are right gave this child
through you.
His love for you is oh, so true and yes it can be found.
Seek not the goals of wicked men where evil does abound.
But look into the eyes so bright where innocence is found.
God in his Mighty Room upstairs speaks to us each day.
And if we listen carefully We’ll hear just what He says.
I looked into his eyes so bright. yes, naked was the child.
And heard a voice of wonderment, it was a mighty sound.
I was given choice you see and this is what I found.
I chose the path yes, to the right where many have walked
before
And know that when my name is called I’ll see my God’s face
once more.
And now I sit and understand the beauty that’s not new,
Shines as a mighty force for man to all who seek the truth.
Let not your heart be troubled when mercy is all around.
