Although this idea occurred to me long before St. Christopher’s Cathedral Golden Jubilee Year began, I succumbed to the human failing of “do tomorrow what you don’t need to do today”. I say this simply because I have been asked: why was this merchandise project not launched until last December? There is another reason: no-one else decided to do it first! 

Well, at least the project did get off the ground, and to a ready market and a focus: the Golden Jubilee Fête. Many stall-holders and fête helpers bought polo-shirts to wear, ensuring that the embroidered Diocesan crest was prominent throughout the day. Mugs and classy key-rings, also decorated with Diocesan crest, were on sale, too – and still are.
