Indira Jaywant Maske - 1927 – 2003
Indira, the loving sister of Ruby and Victor Salve, passed away
peacefully on the 26th. December, after suffering many
years of ill health. She was a loyal servant of Our Lord Jesus
Christ, and a very loving and faithful friend to us all. She will
be sadly missed by so many people and especially her own family.
Her role in this life seemed to be that, although she never married
and sacrificed her life for the service of others, she was the
mother of all. Indira left her home at the age of 18 to go to
Bombay to take up nursing training, after which she worked there for
8 years. Then in 1960 she left for Saudi Arabia and worked as a
nurse for ARAMCO. In 1961 Ruby also joined her there. But Indira
remained there for 30 years until she retired. She then went home
and worked in Sadbhavana (which means Good Wish), which is a child
day care unit set up by Ruby’s sister-in-law many years ago. Indira
was loved by all the children, and by all who she helped throughout
her life. She never turned anyone away, and will be greatly
remembered for her kindness, goodness and love for all. …..”Let
perpetual light shine upon her O Lord”.
Lina
Nathan nee Al Zabaneh - 1973 – 2003
Lina,
the loving daughter of Joseph and Lily and devoted wife of Sami,
sister of Amal, Zuhair, Hanan, and Nawal, passed away after a 10
month battle with cancer. She was loved by us all, and even though
she was a short time on this earth, she made a great impact on all
who met her. Lina had the face of an angel and she dedicated her
life for the Lord in so many ways. She was very active in the Arabic
Church, the Awali Interdenominational Church and the Word of Life
Church. She was president of The Woman’s Aglow Group for a time,
which is a wonderful ministry to women. She was also a Sunday school
teacher. Lina will be remembered with love and affection and
especially for her ‘Jesus Smile” which she wore at all times……..”Let
perpetual light shine upon her O Lord”.
