FAREWELLS

During September and October we said farewell to two couples, both of whom have played a significant part in the life of St. Christopher's over the years.

Firstly, Mary and Freddie Wilkinson returned to the UK with very heavy hearts but their roots are already going down in their new home.  Mary was often around in the compound playing the piano or the organ for the Wednesday or Sunday morning Communion, or Sunday school on a Sunday afternoon.  Mary's gifts are still very much in evidence as we continue to use her Eucharistic setting 'The Bahrain Setting' which is so 'sing-able'.  Freddie was a regular at the Sunday 6 pm service and often around when we needed a strong pair of hands and a wise head.

Heather and Philip Dew left at the beginning of October after 16 or so years in Bahrain.  What wasn't Heather involved in and what wasn't Philip consulted about?

The social life of St. Christopher's and the flowers and a host of other aspects of church life revolved around Heather and Philip, and like Mary and Freddie we are already missing you, but our prayers and good wishes go with you all as you start new lives 'back home'.
