Outward Giving

As we have done in the past, we made a donation of BD.500 in October to the Red Crescent Society for their work in supplying necessary items to needy families during the month of Ramadan.

A new refrigerator at a cost of BD.185 was purchased and delivered to a family in Hamad Town, to replace their old one which no longer works. The husband is unemployed and he and his wife have four young children.

We have also presented a US$1,087 draft (BD.160 of this from retirement collections) to the Shalom Christian Conference Centre in Jhelum, Pakistan towards their development project. An estimated US$59,000 is needed to carry out repairs to their present buildings, which were originally part of a mission hospital founded in 1895. (An article about the Shalom Centre is scheduled for the next issue of this magazine).

Baby Ali Abdulghani: The operation to insert cochlear implants in his ears has been carried out successfully and he is doing well. He will shortly be seeing the doctors in Salmaniya for follow-up, and his family is very hopeful that he will now be able to learn to speak and live a normal life. Please continue to remember little Ali and his family in your prayers.
