On September 29th, 10 clergy
together with 6 wives gathered at the cathedral for our Quiet Day.
Despite the fact that due to circumstances beyond our control no
outside person had been found to conduct our day together it turned
out to be a blessing in disguise as we spent the time getting to
know each other, sharing our joys and frustrations, and learning
about the variety of situations we each work in.
The opportunity to worship, pray, talk and eat together and share
each others' company was a rich experience which we felt needed to
be repeated on a regular basis. Our number was one short due
to the fact that our Archdeacon, Ian Young, who is also the chaplain
at Qatar, was recovering from major heart surgery. He was very
much in our prayers.
Thank you to all those of you from St. Christopher's who so
generously hosted one or more of the clergy and their wives.
