Sowing and Reaping

There’s a time to plant and a time to reap
In between is the time to grow
This is the time for nurturing
Our care for the plant must show.

Our love for God needs nurturing
Like the plant we need the same care
Our souls cry out for living water
Which will be given to us through prayer.

Sometimes the seed grows slowly
And that which has been sown
Needs gentle, tender, loving care
E’er the plant is fully grown.

If we can plant a tiny seed
And tell a seeming lost soul
That God sent Jesus to redeem the world
That person may one day be whole.

Let’s not be discouraged by setbacks
But keep sowing with hope and faith
Let’s nurture the seed which we’ve planted
With the Holy Spirit’s breath.
